Hike to Rocky Peak

Kristin and I hike to Rocky Peak on 4/12/2008.

The plan was to take a 6 mile round-trip hike, but we took a longer route and did about 10-miles round trip.

I took some stunning videos of the Rocky Peak hike.  You can see the conditions of the trails (dusty and rocky) and foliage (dry and clinging).

You also see great views of the cities which surround this desert hike - Simi Valley, Northridge, Chatsworth, Porter Ranch, Woodland Hills, and others.

I enjoyed this hike - it's very close to where we live (about a 2 mile drive) and is rigorous in many places (sharp uphills).  It was very windy the day we went (you can tell that in the videos) which dried our sweat rapidly.

I drank all 100 oz (3 quarts) of water in my hydro pack, and promptly sweated all of it out - which dried almost as I sweated it.
